Divan Beds
Divan beds are the most traditional form of bed. Usually including a boxed base unit with our without drawer storage. Most Divan beds are constructed from timber frames and upholstered in damask or suede fabrics. The Divan base unit offers excellent support to the mattress, distributing the mattress surface evenly over it's entire width and length. Drawer storage options on Divan beds vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but all offer superb storage facilities utilising the otherwise wasted space under the Divan base. Most Divan beds are available in a choice of sprung or platform top base. A sprung base adds additional support to the mattress, often softening the comfort feel. Firm top or platform top Divan bases create a solid base for the mattress, usually making the comfort feel firmer.
Mattresses
The mattress is inherently the most important part of any bed. Mattresses serve the dual purpose of sleep and safety. A modern mattress is ergonomically designed to support the critical areas of the body, thereby preventing strain injuries that can occur by merely resting in the same position. Mattress technology is ever changing and currently includes the very popular Visco elastic memory foam. This special foam slowly responds to body temperature and weight, taking the shape of the user and slowly recovers its original shape when the heat and pressure is removed. It is used on top of sprung core mattresses and independently. More traditional fully sprung and pocket sprung mattresses provide very high degrees of support and offer an alternative to the more modern foam products. As with Divan beds, mattresses are available in all standard UK sizes and upon request can be manufacturer to bespoke sizes dependent on type.

Metal Beds
Metal beds are becoming a popular choice for many because not only are they strong and reliable but they are also a classic way to enhance the decor of your room. Metal bedsteads can be a focal point of any bedroom and will match almost any other style which means that you don't have to worry about things in your room clashing with each other. Just as with most other types, you can get a large variety of sizes of metal beds from small singles to super kingsize metal beds. Again this is ideal because it means that however big or small your room is you will be able to find something that fits into you bedroom perfectly. If you are looking for metal beds then we can help you to find whatever you need at KD beds.
Leather Beds
Your bedroom should be somewhere that makes you feel completely relaxed and comfortable and therefore a lot of people take pride in the way they decorate their rooms. For this reason it is hardly surprising that more people are purchasing leather beds because this creates images of luxury and sophistication.
Leather beds are a great way of creating a classy look for any bedroom because they are simple yet smart. As well as this you can get them in a variety of colours and sizes which means that you are highly likely to find exactly what you are looking for. If you have a small room you can find small single beds and if you have a large room you can treat yourself to a large kingsize bed.
Not only do they look great, but there are also many advantages of leather beds. Although they may be a bit more expensive than other beds, they are a lot more durable as leather covered furniture lasts about four times longer than cloth covered furniture. Leather is also very tough and spills can easily be cleaned up which means that leather beds are likely to last longer than any other kind providing you with great value for money.
Wooden and Pine Beds
Wooden beds and pine beds can make a great addition to any bedroom because not only are they stylish but they are also very versatile. Wooden beds tend to be very neutral in colour and therefore any colour scheme that you want to adopt for your room will match your new furniture. Another advantage of this is that if you decide to redecorate your room in the future you don't have to worry about whether or not your bed will match your new decorations.
The benefits of pine beds are endless. First of all, there are no springs in the base that will wear out over time. Not only does this mean that your bed will always be as comfortable as it was the day you bought it but it will also last a lot longer than other types of beds.
Another advantage of wooden beds is that those which have been constructed with slats are easily taken apart and transported elsewhere. This means that if you ever move home or simply want to move your bed into another room you can do this a lot easier than you can with many other types of beds. If you are looking into investing in wooden beds or pine beds we will be more than happy to help you at KD Beds.
Adjustable Beds
A lot of people don't even consider adjustable beds when they are looking for something new because they think that they cost an absolute fortune. However, this isn't necessarily the case as you can now find reasonably priced adjustable beds in a variety of sizes and styles.
It is highly unlikely that everyone is going to find the same sleeping position comfortable and therefore it is unrealistic to expect everyone to find the same bed comfortable. This is why adjustable beds are ideal because you can manoeuvre them into the exact position that you feel most comfortable in. As well as this there are many other advantages of purchasing adjustable beds over ordinary ones. You can position the bed into many different positions so you can find one that suits whatever you are doing. For example, if you are reading or watching television it is more comfortable to be sitting upright whereas when you go to sleep you can easily move your bed into a flat position.
It is even possible to do this if you have a double bed and one person wants to go to sleep but the other wants to stay awake. This is because typically, double adjustable beds will consist of two individual mattresses so that each person can position their mattress to their individual needs. Adjustable beds are also very helpful to those who have health problems such as back pain and poor circulation. This type of bed can be moved into positions that support your body and therefore reduces any tension in your neck, back and shoulders.
Ottoman Beds
Not many people are aware of what ottoman beds are and the many advantages that they have. This kind of bed is very unique as it lifts upwards to reveal valuable storage space that you wouldn't normally be able to have access to. Even if you already have a bed that has storage space underneath it can look untidy if you have lots of things tucked under your bed. With ottoman beds everything will be stored inside the bed so no 'ne will even know and you are left with a nice tidy bedroom. A lot of people like to have a large bed in their room but this means compromising on space that you may need. Ottoman beds let you have the best of both worlds as you can store things such as bedding, sheets, cosmetics, books or anything else that you want to keep but don't use all that often. They also come with an assisted life system which means that accessing stored items is quick and easy and you don't even have to be super strong to do it. We have a wide range of ottoman beds at KD Beds which you can look at and compare prices to on our website.
Fabric Beds
Fabric beds are a very popular choice for many people and it's not hard to see why once you know all the benefits that come with them. Fabric beds are a lot softer than other kinds of beds and are therefore a lot more comfortable. This means that you are more likely to get a great night sleep and wake up in the morning feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Fabric beds are less likely to rip or tear than vinyl for example. This is perfect if you have pets or young children as accidents are more likely to occur. Not only that but it also means that your bed is likely to last longer and is therefore better value for money.
If you move around a lot in your sleep you are probably used to waking up in the morning to find that your sheet has come away from the mattress. With fabric beds you will find that your skin does not stick to the mattress should this occur which again provides you with a more comfortable sleep.
Fabric beds come in a variety of sizes from small singles to large kingsize beds so no matter how big or small your room is you will be able to find exactly what you are looking for.
Children's Beds
A lot of people prefer to buy children's beds for their youngsters rather than a usual standard bed. There are many different reasons for this including the fact that you may want extra protection in place in case they fall out of bed during the night. Even if there isn't a bar preventing them from doing this, children's beds tend to be a lot smaller and lower down so even if they do fall out they are less likely to hurt themselves.
Children's beds can be fun and colourful which is exactly the kind of thing that appeals to them. You are a lot more likely to get your child into bed every night if they like their bed and consider it to be fun. For example, you can get novelty children's beds such as race cars and fire engines that they will no doubt love.
We have a large variety of children's beds at KD Beds which you can find on our website. Alternatively, if you would prefer to speak to someone about them there is always someone available who is more than happy to help.
Bunk Beds
Bunk beds are most commonly used by people who have children sharing the same room because they save so much space. If you had to put two separate beds in the same room they would no doubt take up the majority of the room and leave you with very little space for anything else. Bunk beds enable you to have two beds in the same room whilst only taking up the space of one and therefore leaving you with plenty of space for other furniture.
Children also think of bunk beds as fun because they get to climb on them and use sheets to make their own secret little hiding place. This will no doubt help to assist parents with their tricky task of trying to get their children into bed every night.
You can get many different varieties of bunk beds now and some of them don't even consist of two beds anymore. A lot of people favour bunk beds that have a bed on the top and a desk underneath. Again, this saves on so much space because it enables you to fit a bed and a desk in a room that you may not otherwise be able to.
Guest Beds
Guest beds are perfect for when you have people around and they need a place to stay. One of the best things about them is the fact that they don't even take up any extra space in your home because the spare mattress slides under the bed. This means that you can have your bedroom as you normally would and then when you have someone staying over all you need to do is simply pull the other mattress out.
Guest beds can be used for a variety of different things which is what makes them such good value for money. If you have children guest beds are handy for when they have friends sleeping over or if you have more than one child sometimes they like sleeping in the same room as each other.
If you ever plan on redecorating any of the bedrooms in your house it can be a hassle when it comes to sleeping arrangements if the room being decorated isn't liveable. Guest beds can easily solve this problem because you know that there is a spare mattress for situations such as these.
If you would like to enquire about purchasing guest beds then feel free to contact KD Beds where there is always someone who is more than willing to help.
Folding Guest Beds
If you regularly have friends or family who come round to stay or you have children who always have friends sleeping over, then you will find that folding guest beds are a worthwhile investment. You can get them in a variety of sizes to suit however much space you have which means that you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to store a massive bed if you have limited space.
Folding guest beds are very practical because they are easy to store and keep hidden until you need them. Once they have been folded up they can easily be kept in a cupboard, attic or anywhere else where you have a bit of extra room.
Another benefit of folding guest beds is that they are very easy to put out and then put away again. When you want to use them you simply fold them out and put bedding on them and then when you have finished with it they simply fold back up again. This means that you don't have to worry about any difficult building work that may end up taking hours to do.
At KD Beds we have a variety of folding guest beds for you to choose from all of which can be viewed on our website.
Stowaway Beds
Although stowaway beds are still fairly unusual, they are an excellent way of saving space especially if you have a very small area. These kinds of beds fold up against the wall when not in use and are therefore completely out the way. When you want to use it you simply fold it down, put bedding on it and you have a comfortable and practical bed.
There are many different occasions when stowaway beds may be ideal for you. You may be struggling to decide whether to make a spare room in your house a bedroom or something else such as a study or kids play area. With stowaway beds you can create both of these things because the bed can be tucked up against the wall out the way but then when you need it as a spare room all you need to do is simply fold the bed out.
You can get stowaway beds in a variety of different sizes which means that you can easily find something that will comfortably fit into the room you plan to put it into. If you have any questions or are interested in purchasing stowaway beds, the staff at KD Beds are more than happy to assist you with your requirements.
Headboards
Headboards are a great way of making any bed or room look more interesting. Nowadays, there is such a wide variety of them available that it is almost impossible not to find the exact thing that you want. You can now get headboards made out of a range of materials from metal to wood and headboards that come in almost any colour, pattern and shape you could ever want. This means that regardless of whether you are decorating a children's bedroom or are after a more upmarket image, you will easily be able to achieve your desired image.
Another advantage of headboards is that they can make reading or watching television in bed a lot more comfortable. You can get cushioned headboards which are ideal for this kind of thing and a lot more practical than leaning up against a cold, hard wall.
Headboards can also help you to create a particular look in your room that you are trying to achieve. For example, metal headboards are a great way of creating a classic yet modern look that will never go out of date.
If you are looking into purchasing headboards you will get plenty of inspiration by looking at the wide range of products we have available at KD Beds.
Pillows
Pillows can make a difference between a good nights sleep and a bad nights sleep which means that it is important to invest in some good quality ones that are comfortable. If you buy cheap pillows, chances are that they are going to be flat and uncomfortable which not only means you are likely to struggle to get to sleep but you will also wake up with a sore neck. It is definitely worthwhile spending that extra bit on pillows that are of a better quality because in cases like this you get what you pay for.
There are now dozens of different varieties of pillows available which means that you can find some that will suit you and your needs perfectly. For example, if you need extra neck support and comfort when you sleep then you may find that the Memory Flex Pressure Relief Pillow is ideal for you. Not only do they reduce pressure and encourage stress relieving sleep, but they are also temperature sensitive which means that you won't get too hot in the middle of the night.
If you find that you struggle to get comfortable once you get into bed then you will probably find that Silhouette Visco Pillows can help to solve this problem. These mould to the shape of your body so you therefore don't have to keep rearranging your pillow to get it just how you like it to get a great nights sleep.
Mattress Toppers
Mattress toppers are a thin pad of material that you can put on top of your existing mattress in order to provide extra support and comfort. They are perfect if you have had your mattress for a while and don't think it's as comfortable as it used to be or you may simply just like the extra comfort that they provide.
You can get many different types of mattress toppers depending on your personal preferences and your budget. One variety is the Memory Topper which is a piece of foam normally an inch or two thick which you put on top of your mattress. People find that they improve the performance of their current mattress and get a more comfortable nights sleep.
The biggest advantage of mattress toppers is the fact that they are a much cheaper alternative to investing in a brand new mattress. This is great if your current mattress is perfectly fine but it is not as comfortable as it used to be.
Mattress toppers come in a variety of sizes so it doesn't matter whether you have a single, double, kingsize or even super kingsize bed. If you have any questions about mattress toppers feel free to contact KD Beds.
